The reality of being back after a long trip

There is never the right moment to quit a job and to travel the world. AND You will never do it if you do not have the courage or the enthusiasm for it. 😛 Traveling by yourself, meeting new people everyday, keeping a low budget and still enjoying your trip is hard AND not for everyone.

When you decide to become a world citizen because you give up on having your own place and a typical routine, you should get ready for: Not feel home in any place. At the end, You go to places where you were born or where you were used to lived and you do not feel home anymore. YEAP: That is the hard reality you face when you return.

The reality of meeting your family and friends after some time traveling around…

Returning after a long trip is perhaps the most difficult moment. Well, the first 2 weeks are amazing: you go for coffee and drinks everyday with friends; you visit all your family and they are soooooooo happy to finally see you; you get spoil for everyone around.

BUT after that? After that, you face the hard reality of being back home…

Actually, while you traveled, your friends got new jobs, houses, routines, better paychecks… AND you: you saw nice sunrises, amazing sunsets; you hiked hard volcanos and conquer parts of the world you did not know they even exist before.

So when people asked “So what are you doing next?”; “So have you started looking for a job?”; “So are you leaving again or what?” – You are like…wtf?

You cannot think about “normal life” because you have not plan much for so long AND deciding what you are doing the day after tomorrow seems like something IMPOSSIBLE! YES, believe me! AND all you want is to scream at people and say: I have no f****** idea and Can you see how much I change? Can you ask me something else?

So what is the solution? Well, I do not know! Eventually, TIME. I am still figuring out. 😀

Hands up who is facing this reality 😀 AND feel free to contact if you want to share any thoughts.

I hope you enjoyed this post.
