#Blog – Thank you to all of you

Peopleeee, in the beginning of the year, I put up a survey with 8 questions about what would you like to see on the blog. I ended up realizing that you are more reactive on Instagram than on the blog … Still, I would like to thank everyone who took 1 minute to answer the questions. Btw, you can still leave your opinion about the blog here.

In 2018, I dedicated myself to the blog much more; I wrote a lot; I shared a lot and I even made many contacts with other bloggers and travelers.

On the blog:

  • We had more than 12,000 visits between 2016 and 2018;
  • We have published more than 100 articles since 2016;
  • We had 6 girls sharing about their travel experiences (garotas pelo mundo);
  • The number of visits increased by 22% from 2016;
  • Our public became much more diverse: today visitors are not only from Portugal, but also from others countries, such as the US, France and Australia.

And why am I telling you this? Because this was the first year that the blog was self-sufficient (meaning: I did not spend money from my pocket on it haha).

I am really happy to see some positive outcomes after so many posts published. Although what blogs and websites say, creating a blog, building a community and keeping it up, it is far from being easy and an instant source of income (on my case, it took me 3 years to only cover the expenses I had with the blog in 2018).

I really wanted to share this with you because that’s all thanks to you.

Thank you!

Thank you for reading about my adventures; Thank you for making me believe that what I write interests you.

On the long ride of writing a blog, I have understood that my ego has not always helped me to grow (hopefully, I will improve this in the future); The online environment has shown me that loving something has to come first than making money (I also did not want to see this); and You have shown me that pursuing success is not the answer (success was what I really sought for when I first created the blog and… That was not a good thought!).

I hope 2019 will be a wonderful year for all of us and with better and more adventures here on the blog; with more articles that captivates you and more interaction with all of you. Once again, thanks 😀

Beijinho,

Daniela
