Today I want to talk about people

Today I want to talk about something very important for me: PEOPLE.

There is nothing else in the world that brings more enjoy than talking to people and spending time with people. I love meeting and connecting to new people. I believe that’s the reason why I love traveling so much: on the road you meet people every day, every hour.

Since I moved to Chicago, my life changed completely, excepted on the quantity of people I meet daily haha. My university is always organizing events, bringing new speakers in and helping us to “build” stronger connections with professionals. However, since I start this American life I just feel everything is so superficial here. In every event we are told networking is EVERYTHING, actually speakers tell us so often no matter how good we are, the most important thing in this world is networking. :S

And why am I talking about this today? Because since I moved, I struggle to find deep connections with people. In this fast pace typically from the US, I struggle to fully abrace what I did in the past; I struggle to fully connect with people because most of the time I force myself to just connect/ say a couple of “smart words” to a potential employer; I struggle to understand whatever I want to get from this all experience at the university of Chicago and/or the USA. But more than anything, I struggle to find people with who I can just be myself: Say whatever; be whatever and not giving a fuck about the consequences.

I miss having my people around.
